Since its inception in 1995, Biotechcellence has become synonymous with the quest for excellence in the field of biotechnology. This symposium provides an excellent opportunity for the undergraduates, graduates, doctorates and post-doctorates to network with major personalities in the biotechnology and its related fields.

About Scholarship

Under its Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship Programme, the Foundation awards interest free loan scholarships to Indian students with a consistently good academic record. The amount of scholarship, up to a maximum of Rs. Fifteen Lacs, is decided as per the assessment of the Foundation.

Scholarships are offered for postgraduate studies at prestigious institutions in India and abroad, in the fields of Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Architecture and Management.

The applicant is required to register online , a fee of Rs 500/- is payable through the online payment gateway. A login password will be sent to the applicant’s email id, which requires to be retrieved for filling the forms duly. On completion of the entire form an acknowledgement will be sent to the applicant. 

Who is eligible for this scholarship?

Indian nationals, residing in India
Students below 30 years of age as on 31st Jan 2012
Graduates of a recognized Indian university with a consistently good academic record (Students in the final year of the degree course, or those awaiting results are also eligible)
Students planning to pursue post graduate studies at prestigious institutes from the Fall – 2012 semester (Students awaiting admission are also eligible, but the award of scholarship is subject to securing admission)

Documents to be furnished at the time of application

Attested copies of
(a) All mark sheets and degree certificates
(b) GRE / GMAT / TOEFL / IELTS / GATE / CAT scorecards, as applicable
(c) Award letters of scholarships / awards received
(d) Your application to the university and/or offer letter(s) confirming your admission
(e) First 4 pages of your passport

How to apply

Register yourself and pay an application fee of Rs 500/- will be applicable through the online payment gateway, login with provided password on email and fill & upload all applicable and mandatory fields.

Selection Process for the Scholarship

All applications will be screened for short listing. Short listed candidates will be required to attend a personal interview at Mumbai during June 2012 The interview is mandatory and is the basis for final selection.

Post Selection Formalities

1. Selected scholars will have to submit attested copies of :
(a) The letter confirming admission to the College / University.
(b) Form I-20 ( in case of admission to universities in the US) or copy of letter offering financial support ( in case of universities in other countries).

2. Scholars will be required to attend an Orientation Programme at Mumbai, before the commencement of their course.

3. Scholars will have to sign an MoU with the Foundation and agree to its terms and conditions.

4. Scholars will have to take an insurance policy and assign it to the Foundation.

5. Disbursement of the scholarship will be done in installments based on the fee statement from the College/University to be furnished by the scholar.

Schedule of Repayments to NSF

Repayment will commence one year after course completion as per the following schedule :

1st year after course completion : Nil

2nd year after course completion : 30% of the scholarship amount

3rd year after course completion : 35% of the scholarship amount

4th year after course completion : 35% of the scholarship amount

Fedbank Hormis Memorial Foundation Scholarships 2011-12 | scholarships

Applications for scholarships are invited from students studying in the state of Kerala & Tamil Nadu for the courses mentioned.

Ten students in each discipline, of which one seat will be kept aside for a physically challenged student (duly evidenced by a certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of DMO or an approved Medical Officer of the Bank), will be reimbursed 100% of the tuition fees as per the fee structure for seats allotted in the Government quota in Govt., Aided and Self-financing colleges, subject to a maximum of Rs.75,000/- in a year up to the normal completion of course. If there are no sufficient applicants in the 'physically challenged' category, then cases of less than 40% also will be considered. Any disruption on account of any kind of failure will make the student ineligible for scholarships. If applications are not received from eligible candidates under 'physically challenged', it will be utilized under general category. 

Conditions: 1, The student should be of Indian origin and studying in the state of Kerala or Tamil Nadu in any of the Govt./ Aided /Self-financing colleges duly recognised by any of the Universities in India. The tuition fees should be in parity with the fees approved by the Govt, for Aided/Self-financing colleges under merit list. 2. The student should have secured admission under Merit List during the academic year 2011-12 in the respective course. 3. Family income of the student should be below Rs.2.50 lakh per annum. 4. The decision on selection of eligible students and on payment of the scholarship by the Managing Trustee shall be final & binding on all concerned. 5.
